The year 12 Physical Education class spent three days at the start of term 2 participating in a kayaking practical at the West Lakes Aquatic Centre. This was one of their three practical topics that they will complete as part of their SACE Stage 2 PE course.

A range of weather conditions was experienced by the students with the first day being cold and windy with the sun out on the second day and the water being flat calm. The third day was a real test for the students, who were faced with strong winds, cold weather and storm conditions. At one point kayakers had to quickly paddle back to shore when a storm rolled in, making for a very humorous, but challenging situation. All of the students demonstrated outstanding leadership and initiative throughout the three days.
