Springbank Secondary College SA
Springbank Secondary College is a new entity that has emerged from the strong foundations and histories of Daws Road High School and Pasadena High School following a significant renewal and redesign process.
The Springbank Sabres first match saw us take on Thebarton Thunder and in a close match with many shots fired at each end. Despite excellent defense and continual offence attacks, the Thunder threaded the only goal of the match in the dying seconds to take the win 0-1. Ryan was a standout player in this match, showing passion and promise.
Next, the Sabres took on the Underdale Gladiators in a match resulting in a nil all draw despite continuous attacks and excellent striking of the puck. Alfie showing great sportsmanship and true Springbank S.C. values by returning a wayward stick to a fallen opposition player. 0-0.
Springbank charged in our match against the always reliable Christies Beach Sharks with two goals being scored in the first minute of the encounter by our gun striker Ainslie. This onslaught proved too much to overcome for the Sharks with Springbank holding that margin through till the final siren finishing 2-0.
The next assignment for the Sabres was to confront Bowden Brompton Purple Reign in a match that saw the Sabres keep substantial control of the puck and spend most of the period in their own offensive half. Successive goals to the Sabres through the second half of the match saw them take the points. Jaxon was commanding through the middle with excellent defensive and offensive contributions, leaving the final score 2-0.
The SASY Assassins were our next opponent and although the game was played in a high energy manner, both teams displayed teamwork, tenacity and sportsmanship with the Sabres proving more skillful around the goal and taking out a 3-1 victory.
With the round robin section completed, Springbank Sabres were 2nd on the leaderboard with all team members putting in maximum effort to support each other, ensure success and make all of Springbank Secondary College proud. Well done to the whole team!

Every Tuesday afternoon, our Year 7s dive into hands-on numeracy games—tackling measurement, mastering mental math challenges, and using fun manipulatives to bring learning to life. We love watching their problem-solving and critical thinking grow through interactive play!
